Reptile Bridge, Personalize Color and Size! Handmade Cotton Hammock | Lizard Accessory | Enclosure Décor

Sick of paying too much money for hammocks that aren't even the right size for your enclosure? ToxicWitchWeavery has a solution for you! I was asked to make these by my favorite reptile shop, The Road Show, and I'm so glad. These have turned out super awesome, and I'm super glad to be able to meet their demand, as they can no longer source them!

These are crocheted by hand with 100% cotton yarn. I have used different more natural looking materials in the past, but I had too many worries myself of the durability, and mostly the ability to clean and reuse these. Cotton yarn is the same thing your great grandma use to make washcloths and dish towels with, and there's a reason; It's pretty sturdy, comes in any color you can imagine, and best of all, is super easy to wash! Nowadays, just toss it in your washing machine and dryer (after rinsing the majority of the mess off with warm water), and they should come clean! As a result of the different material, these "give" more than the commercial brands, and more than the jute, but this can usually be remedied with suction cup/hook placement. These are made to stretch; Don't be afraid to tug them tight! I make them a couple inches shorter than the length of the standard gallon size enclosures, so when weight gets placed on them, they don't sag to the floor.

If you're having issues getting suction cups to stick, kindly remember that I do not make these suction cups, I simply provide them. This is why I offer the ability to buy them with or without suction cups. I simply can't offer an option for every enclosure that's out there. First step is to ensure that your enclosure and the cup are both very clean, then add a spritz of water between the two. I have a PVC enclosure, for example, and I use adhesive hooks that permanently stick directly to the wall.

I make these for bearded dragons, uromastyx, skinks and/or similarly sized lizards. If you're looking for a smaller hammock for your geckos or smaller lizard, I do make a smaller version of these just for your scale babies with a smaller 'footprint'. 10 Gallon - 18 inches
25 Gallon - 28 inches
40 Gallon - 34 inches
120 Gallon - 46 inches

These can also be shipped with or without four suction cups (I've had really good luck with these, but I know some people have permanent hooks installed).

You will have to let me know what color you want in the personalization below. The options are nearly limitless, but please keep it to only one color per bridge. Until I have a proper swatch of colors, throw a color out there, and I'll probably be able to get my hands on it! Also, if you're looking for a custom size, or special needs accommodation, let me know in the personalization!

Also to note; These are not meant for very high humidity situations. It's extremely hard to find a natural (crochet-able) material that is resistant to mold to the level needed to sustain 75%+ humidity. Part of why I stopped using hemp/jute cord was because they never recover from being washed or soaked in water. However, cotton is still susceptible to mold if kept in high humidity! I haven't yet found a textile material that I'm able to crochet with that is suitable for this, but I am still on the hunt! Rest assured that once I find it, you'll see a new aquarium section in the shop!

I will give fair warning; DO NOT use these for snake *enclosures*! While these are good for out-of-enclosure enrichment for some smaller snakes, they can get stuck in the spaces between the stitches, and therefore should never be left unsupervised with these hammocks.
